Curriculum
The LEAD program is offered as a cohort class that consists of two weeks of intensive classes at ASU and a summer internship at an automotive dealership or alternate project.
First Intensive Arizona State University – Winter Session (Jan 3-9)
- Dealership Management Class – Three credit hours
- Some readings will be assigned prior to January 3rd. Final work for the classes will be submitted to instructors after January 9th. A reading list for the second year will be provided to students by May. Many of the assignments will be done off-campus and submitted online.
Summer Internship – Summer
- Students will enroll in a three credit hour internship class and will be required to submit weekly journal entries of the dealership experience, along with the completion of a process study. All coursework for the internship will be handled via e-mail
Final Intensive Arizona State University – Winter Session (Jan 3-9)
- Customer Service and Loyalty – One credit hour
- Human Resources – One credit hour
- Accounting / Finance– One credit hour
- Some readings will be assigned prior to January 3rd. Final work for the classes will be submitted to instructors after January 9th. Many of the assignments will be done off-campus and submitted online.
An additional six hours of Management or Marketing classes that are taken at the student's home university, or are part of a completed business degree program (must be approved by the CAEL faculty director) complete the 15 hours of coursework required for the certificate.
