Spotlights: Richard Jiron

Pictures of Richard JironBio: I am a W.P. Carey School of Business graduate in the field of marketing. I graduated in the winter of 2000. My hometown is Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am Native American, although I am part Spanish through my maternal grandmother. I have a pretty big family, with eight ASU alum's. Unlike many others that are participating in the Executive Leadership program, I have a family with two children, ages six and fifteen. I spend most of my time with my kids and my nieces and nephews. We do many things like swimming on hot days, going to Peter Piper Pizza, and playing games with our PS2. I am really enjoying this program. I think that working at a dealership is a challenge. For the last ten years, I have been in the car wash business. I found many similarities when I did my internship at Bell Ford. I am currently working as a Dealership Management Trainee at Albuquerque Lincoln Mercury in Albuquerque, NM.

An Interview with Richard

Q:
What have you enjoyed the most about your experience?
A:
The one thing that I have enjoyed the most is the challenge I face each day to sell or help sell vehicles. During this time, competition is intense, especially with every make and model up and down our street. It really helps when the customer hears why you are at the dealership and that one day you will be the one in charge. I really enjoy coming to work.
Q:
How are you going to use what you have learned in future career endeavors?
A:
I have learned everything from managing employees.to customer conflicts. I can proudly say it was through this program.
Q:
Why did you originally become interested in the CAEL or ADEPM?
A:
I originally became interested in this program through ASU. I was always fascinated with all the profit centers and it looked like a great way to make money. Fortunately for me, it all came together.
