The Ford sponsored National Automobile Dealers Association Dealer Training Program is a twelve-month minority dealer training program utilizing the NADA Dealer Candidate Academy in McLean, Virginia. This program was developed for individuals with substantial dealership experience.This is a fast paced intense training process that includes:
- Approximately 45 weeks of in-dealership work experience in a sponsoring dealership
- Six weeks of classroom instruction at the NADA Dealer Candidate Academy
- Dearborn training sessions to include Ford initiatives in support of dealerships; e.g., Focal Point, Order To Delivery, XL2000, Partners in Progress, Owner Loyalty, Blue Oval and Lincoln Premeir Certification, E-Commerce and Brand Management
Goal
To provide an educational opportunity through which dealer candidates can develop the tools, leadership management techniques, and entrepreneurial skills to become the general manager of a Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealership. Ford Motor Company does not guarantee that graduates of this training program will become the general manager or otherwise employed at a Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealership or will be given an opportunity to invest in a dealership.
